Community Life

The Next Generation

For a crop to grow, seeds must first be planted and cultivated, an investment of much time and effort. We believe that it is God’s will for children to come to know Him and that they have good soil which can bear much fruit. Our prayers and efforts are aimed at sowing the good seeds of God's Word in our children, giving them the foundation upon which they will produce good fruit in their lives. Our goal is to provide the tools for them to learn to apply God's Word in their lives so that their faith might be multiplied even as they go through difficulties. That they will learn to resist temptations and doubt, and to discover their God-given purpose. In the life of the Harvest of Asher community, God helps us to achieve this goal through Shabbat school lessons, the afterschool program, and the youth and young adults ministries.

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he "will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6

Children

Children's after school program

For several years, with the help of our partners, the community has been implementing a children's after school program which includes activities for the children of believers from different cities in the surrounding area. The classes offered include voice training, guitar and drum lessons, drawing, and fine arts. Believers from Harvest of Asher and other communities serve as teachers to help the children discover their talents. The children not only benefit from the teacher's professional skills, but also from their love and compassion, guidance of the Holy Spirit, and desire to build up and encourage the children. In addition to spiritual food, children receive a warm dinner and transportation home. Such an atmosphere helps to convey God’s love and care, and the fullness of His character to children, bringing them closer to Him. Our hope is to build a framework where the children can fellowship with one another.

Shabbat school

"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."
3 John 1:4

Shabbat school takes place during the main service for children ages 3 and up. Children are divided into groups according to age so that appropriate material suitable for their level can be chosen. We pray and strive for the children's hearts to be open to God and not subject to the influence of the world, so that they will be a light to their friends at school and in their surroundings.

 Youth and young adults

Our prayer and investment in the youth and young adults is a major focus. These are our future leaders; the fruit of what man has invested in and God has nurtured. We pray for God’s direction and His continued blessing and increase on this ministry. The participation of youth and teenagers in various conferences, camps, prayer and worship gathering both within the community and outside, expands their knowledge about God and His Word. It exposes them to in-depth prayer, the guidance of the Holy Spirit and joining together with other young people in order to increase unity among all believers. The youth and young adults are an important part of our community, serving on the worship team, teaching Shabbat school, translating, and much more.

Mid-week fellowship and study

An important condition for the effective life and growth of any community is its spiritual unity. We believe that through unity Harvest of Asher is given God’s power to fulfill His mission for our congregation. An example of such unity was given to us in Acts:

"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. … All the believers were together and had everything in common. ... They broke bread in their homes and ate "together with glad and sincere hearts
Acts 2:42-47

The gathering together in groups whether in homes or at the congregation, no matter what the physical or spiritual age or condition is, supports and encourages our growth and walk with God.  Through reading and studying God's Word together we experience personal spiritual growth and discover God's purpose for our lives. Coming together and building relationship in this way strengthens us to be available to serve together in the congregation and in the community.

Vision for the Future

Messianic Community Center

Investing in our future and that of the Kingdom of God is our catalyst for paving the way to establish a Community Center; the forerunner of a Messianic School. This program is meant to invest in the children and youth of the Western Galilee through activities, teaching and fellowshipping. It is the equipping of and impartation to the next generation.
