The Spirit of God is the One who turns truth into life. A person can study Scripture, learn doctrines, listen to sermons, and possess great knowledge, yet without the work of the Holy Life-giving Spirit, truth remains external.

The prophet Ezekiel is carried by the Spirit of the Lord into a valley full of dry bones, and there he is asked the central question: “Son of man, can these bones live?”

Since the fall of humanity, the human heart has tended toward sin, conflict, and death.
